We have been Japanese Knotweed Contractors in London and have many high profile clients. We have used all methods of Herbicidal Applications and our preferred method is Stem Injection. We have tested this system over a number of years while working for Camden Council as contractors and have found it be be extremely efficient and cost effectice. We use spraying as a secondary method and used as a back up to stem injection.
Spraying should only be used were there is no risk of contaminating waterways, animal and plant life. If spraying is to be the only method of eradication used, then four applications over the growing season ( April-Oct) will be required, followed by further treatment in subsequent years.

For maximum effectiveness, the treatment should be applied to a flourishing, intact, healthily plant with it's root system intact. If the plant has been cut, and the ground disturbed the treatment will be less effective.
The site will need to be inspected and any remaining shoots treated over a two to three year to ensure that eradication has taken place. It is this time constraint which makes this treatment unsuitable as a technique for property development. On construction sites, some form of ground excavation is normally the preferred method.
We work for property developers, landlords, landscape architects, garden designers, local councils such as Camden and have many, many happy customers.
